Carved from a single piece of rare blue mahoe heartwood, this angelfish floats between the natural honey-gold grain of the wood’s sapwood and the deep charcoal of its heart — no paint, no stain, just the tree. Will Fernandez has been carving tropical hardwoods in Key West for nearly thirty years, finding forms hidden inside the grain. Mounted on a matching hardwood base, 20×20″ overall.
